The "New" Salamanca Cathedral was built between 1513 and 1733. It dates from the late Gothic period and the exterior façade is clearly the work of stonemasons using stone from Villamayor. Not to be forgotten is its raised choir, with its Renaissance and Baroque organ, built by Churriguera.
