The Holy Spirit Church was built between 1617 and 1665, year in which it was consecrated by the Royal College of the Company of Jesus (Real Colegio de la Compañía de Jesús). Built at the highest point in Salamanca, it is also known as the Clerecía.
Designed by architects Pedro Matos and Andrés García de Quiñones, it is one of the most beautiful, graceful and majestic creations of the baroque period, although it still possesses certain aspects that could be attributed to Juan de Herrera.
